Project brief · Career transition in progress
I’m Don Dorey, a hands-on technical professional with approximately 30 years of experience solving problems, coordinating work, and delivering to exacting standards.
I’m now applying that experience to project management while preparing for the CAPM and WGU’s Project Management degree.
The project manager behind the plan
My background spans equipment repair, machine building, electronics assembly, wiring, quality control, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. That work demanded planning, communication, risk awareness, and disciplined follow-through long before I called those skills project management.
This portfolio shows how I’m translating that experience into formal PM practice: defining outcomes, structuring work, managing uncertainty, and documenting what changed along the way.
